I’ve come across another nifty little ‘blog’ gadget. This one tells you how much your blog is if you were to sell it. I don’t know if it’s real, but after 3 months of blogging this is what mine amounts to. Not bad. Now, how does someone actually ‘sell’ ones blog?? And why would they? More questions than answers!

Hmmm… I really hate to disparage you… but I just tried my blog and it says the EXACT same thing! Maybe book blogs are all evaluated equally? Anyway, I’m not that much older than you, only started in January, so could be true and we are the same… down to the penny… But yes, I also don’t know how one would ‘sell’ their blog! Advertising perhaps?

Hmm… curious how they came up with these numbers. Interestingly enough I got the exact same amount. To the penny. Maybe it’s the standard market value for a super awesome book blog??
I’ve gone around some other blogs and they all say the same thing too; exactly the same price. I entered Paulo Coelho’s blog just to see what it would say and it came up at about a million dollars!
Hmm. I don’t understand how they process that kind of information. Maybe it looks at external links, hits and SEO stats. Since I don’t intend to sell I’m not bothered! Still, it’s an interesting little gadget 🙂

Technorati is a bit weird – it used to be quite a good indicator of who was linking to you and how well-connected your blog was… and then it stopped.
But I like the badge just the same. And, as Lisa say, the One Lovely BLog Award is sure to increase your blog’s value. (I hope so, she kindly gave me one, too!)
Mine was worth the exact same amount as well. (Must be the going rate for bloggers who aren’t famous yet.) This appears to be a gimmick to draw people to that site for other business enterprises. If you hover there for a minute, you’ll see other stuff come up. And by pasting the blog price/value “badge” on our sites, we’re in essence advertising for him. Pretty clever. Anyone out there interested in pasting the cover for Separation of Faith on your sites? 🙂 Just kidding. But that’s sort of what this guy appears to be doing. As I said, he’s pretty innovative because we all went there. Food for thought for our own objectives.

Cheri – Then it’s sorted. It’s all a publicity scam. I feel duped! I’d delete the damn thing if it weren’t for the lovely comments everyone made. It’s amazing how people make money on the internet. As always, your perspective just goes to show how writers grow into authorship and can spot things like this. I hope I’ll be like you one day!
